Payment terms

How payment works

  • Flat fee, paid by the family or sponsor. The fee is fixed for the tier and add-ons named in the engagement letter; there is no hourly billing. The paying party signs; the person in custody is the client of record.
  • Payment is by Stripe (card or bank). A secure link is sent with the engagement letter.
  • Records & Guide and Tier 1: paid in full at engagement.
  • Tier 2: paid in full at engagement, or split 50/50: half at engagement, half on delivery. The finished packet is released when the balance clears. The 72-hour clock runs from the first payment.
  • Tier 3: split 50/50: half at engagement, half when the BP-10 draft is delivered. Both halves are due before the BP-11 is drafted.
  • Add-ons are paid when ordered.
  • Reduced-fee engagements: two per month at 40% off the list price for families who cannot meet the fee. Decided at intake and written into the engagement letter. Ask at intake.
  • The delivery clock runs from the later of the signed engagement letter and the first payment. It is a delivery commitment for our paper, not a commitment about any hearing date, decision, or outcome.
